Welcome to ZipMechanic. These Terms of Service govern your use of our app and platform, which connects drivers with one vetted mechanic per ZIP code for inspections, maintenance, and repair services.
By creating an account, booking a service, or listing your business on ZipMechanic ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts to use ZipMechanic. ZipMechanic is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Using the app to purchase automotive services is restricted to adults.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You can update your profile in Settings, and you can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time from Settings → Data & Safety → Delete Account.
Each ZIP code is served by a single, vetted mechanic. Mechanics are granted an exclusive territory. Soliciting ZipMechanic users off-platform to avoid fees, or operating in a ZIP you have not been assigned, is a material breach of these Terms.
Approved mechanics pay a monthly base subscription plus a per-client fee above a free-client threshold. Billing terms for your account are shown in your Settings. Promotional or whitelisted arrangements override the standard rates only where applied to your account. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from Settings.
Clients pay for inspections and services through the platform. Estimates are good-faith ranges; final pricing is confirmed by your mechanic after diagnosis. Payments for physical automotive services are processed by our payment partner. Tips and deposits are handled within the app.
You may send messages, photos, audio, video, and reviews through the platform. You agree not to post unlawful, harassing, fraudulent, infringing, or unsafe content. We provide a Report tool (Settings → Data & Safety → Report a Problem) so any user can flag objectionable content, messages, or profiles for review. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
You may not use ZipMechanic to commit fraud, discriminate, abuse or harass other users, scrape or reverse-engineer the platform, interfere with its operation, or circumvent its fees. Mechanics may not perform work outside their licensed and insured scope.
ZipMechanic is a marketplace that connects drivers and mechanics. We are not a repair shop and we do not perform the services ourselves. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZipMechanic is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of mechanics and other users.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. We will first attempt to resolve disputes informally. Any claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
You may stop using ZipMechanic at any time. You may delete your account and request removal of your personal data from Settings → Data & Safety → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk to the community.
We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
